Sending SMS through Manychat is an effective way to connect directly with your audience via text messaging. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up the SMS channel in Manychat using the Twilio integration, as well as how to disconnect your Twilio account if needed.
How to connect your Twilio account to Manychat
Sending SMS through Manychat is possible with the Twilio integration. If you don't yet have a Twilio account, start by registering and getting a phone number that you'll use to send automated messages in Manychat.
To set up the integration, go to the Manychat Settings and select the SMS tab. Click on the Connect button and fill in your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and a phone number you want to connect. Click Connect to confirm:
How to find your Twilio credentials
You will find the Account SID and Auth Token on the Twilio dashboard in your account:
Alternatively, you will find these Twilio credentials in the Account management section > API keys & tokens:
⚠️ To use this integration, you need an upgraded Twilio account. If you have a trial account, Twilio will not provide the needed information through the API, and integration will not work on the Manychat side.
How to disconnect your Twilio account from Manychat
If you want to change your Twilio phone number, update your Auth Token, or switch to a different Twilio account, you'll need to disconnect your current Twilio account from Manychat. To do this, navigate to Settings > Channels > SMS, find the Remove Twilio Account option, and click the Remove button.
⚠️ If you remove the Twilio integration, all your automations will be stopped. You won't be able to reach your subscribers via SMS.
