This article explains how to leverage different types of Blocks or elements in Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram messages. While the different platforms share many common blocks, not all platforms have the same block options.

All the blocks are draggable. Use the arrow on the right to drag any block into the message. Hover over the arrow until it turns blue to move a block.
Block Functionality:
- Text block: [Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp]
Use the text block to craft your message.
If you need to share a piece of information separately but still within the same message of the flow, you can add another Text block and type the follow-up message:
- Image block: [Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp]
Use the image block to send an image within your message.
You can either click this icon to upload a specific image that you'd like to send or insert a link to it:
- Card and Gallery blocks: [Messenger and Instagram]
Use these blocks to display products, photos, or services.
A Card is made up of an image, headline, description, and button(s). The image of the card in Messenger can either be square or horizontal. In Instagram, it is square only.
A Gallery consists of two or more Cards where you can add an image of your product, additional information, and a link to an external resource.
This is how Gallery looks in Messenger:
- Subscription List Request block: [Messenger]
Subscription requests require the contact to consent to receive messages from you after the initial 24-hour window. For more information, you can read our articles on Broadcasts and Messenger Lists.
- Audio, and Video blocks: [Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp]
You can attach audio, and videos to your messages.
NOTE: There is a file size limit for uploads, with the maximum file limit size in Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp of 25MB.
- File block: [Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp]
Other file types, such as PDFs, XLS, etc., can be sent via your bot.

- Delay block: [Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp]
Use this to place a delay before your next block is sent.
In Messenger and Telegram, you have the choice to have it appear as your bot is typing during the delay.
Click the icon to add the block to your message and choose Delay time. Place it anywhere, such as at the start of a message or between two separate message blocks.
- User Input block: [Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp]
This block captures the immediate response by the contact after this block and saves it into a corresponding Custom Field.
