Overview
By default, all outbound emails are set up to be sent from a Manychat email address belonging to Manychat’s domain, but you can set this up to be sent from your own business domain instead. Doing so means your emails will appear to be sent from an email belonging to your business.
You’ll want to set up your own business domain for a number of reasons, including having greater control over your email sender reputation and your business’s brand, to appear more professional.
In this article, you’ll learn how to set up your business email address on your own domain and how to warm your email sender reputation up.
Please note: You will need to own the business domain that you’d like your emails to be sent from, as changes are needed to the domain’s technical records in order to set this up. Emails that belong to a free provider (emails that belong to @google.com, @yahoo.com, etc.) will not work.
You can access your email settings by going to Settings —> Email —> Connect Business Domain in your Manychat account.
There are 4 steps you’ll need take to successfully set up your business email address
- Verify your business email address
- Generate Manychat’s Domain Name System (DNS) records
- Update your DNS records & verify changes
- Warm your email sender reputation up
Step 1. Verify Your Business Email Address
Go to Settings → Email → Send from and click '+ New Address.’
Enter the ‘Email address’ and the ‘Sender name’ you’d like your emails to be sent from and click ‘Add Address.’ You can make changes to the ‘Sender name’ later, at any time. You may also add a Reply-to address if you would like to receive replies from your customers (it may differ from you main business email).
Once you add your business email, you’ll receive a confirmation email to verify your email address.
If you don’t receive a confirmation email in your inbox (be sure to also check your spam/junk folder), click ‘Verify’ to resend the confirmation email:
Step 2. Generate Manychat’s DNS records
After your business email address is verified through the confirmation email, your business domain will need to be verified and you’ll need to give Manychat permission to send emails on your behalf. This is an important step that will help prevent your domain from being used by unauthorized users to send malicious emails to your contacts.
In order to verify your domain, you’ll need to generate Manychat’s Domain Name System (DNS) records to make updates to your own provider’s DNS records. You will have 3 days to complete
Click ‘Authenticate’ below to generate Manychat’s DNS records:
This will generate the DNS records from Manychat that you’ll use to update your own domain provider’s DNS records to successfully verify your domain.
Step 3. Update Your Provider’s DNS Records & Verify Changes
This step will require you to complete a task outside of your Manychat account. Open your domain provider’s DNS platform, where you’ll apply the DNS records that were generated in the previous step to your own domain.
Instructions on how to do this for popular domain providers are listed below:
If your domain provider isn’t listed here, log into your provider’s account and search through their help documents for instructions or reach out to their support team for assistance.
Once you’ve updated your domain records properly, you’ll verify this by clicking ‘Check my modified DNS records’ in Manychat:
Please note: Authentication on your provider’s side usually takes just a moment, but it may take longer in some cases.
Once you’ve successfully updated your provider’s DNS records, you’ll see a confirmation pop-up letting you know that you’ve successfully updated your DNS records.
Check ‘I understand that I should warm my sending reputation up’ and you’re all set.
Step 4. Warm Your Email Sender Reputation Up
We’re almost there! You should now be able to send emails from your own business address, but you’ll first have to warm your email sending reputation up as you begin sending emails to your contacts.
In order to warm your sending reputation up, you’ll want to limit sending emails for the first 2-4 weeks after you’ve successfully connected your business email address. Do this even if you currently have a good sending reputation with your provider. This will help prevent your emails from ending up in your contact’s spam folders.

Business Domain Troubleshooting
Please, note that some services, such as GoDaddy, Google Domains, Cloudflare or Namecheap, require removing the domain part of the Name (host) when setting up a DNS. If you are experiencing any issues with DNS records in the Name field, try to delete the part of the copied text, as shown in the picture below, and save your record again: you should only copy the name part.
Step 1. Copy the Name (host) from the Manychat modal window.
Step 2. Insert the name in the Name field in your Domain service and remove the domain part.
Step 3. Check your DNS Records, and now you are all set.
