The Instagram default reply is a powerful feature designed to ensure you never miss an opportunity to engage with your audience. When someone sends a message to your Instagram account, the default reply is automatically triggered, providing an instant response.
Whether you want to greet new followers, answer common questions, or guide users through your offerings, this tool allows you to maintain consistent communication and keep your audience engaged.
In this article, we'll explore how to set up and optimize the Instagram default reply to enhance your messaging strategy and build better customer relationships.
How to set up an Instagram default reply
In your Manychat account, navigate to Settings > Instagram > Default reply. From there, you can either choose to create a new flow for your Instagram default reply or select an existing one.
If you choose to create a new flow, you’ll be redirected to the flow builder, where you can build a custom flow specifically for this trigger.
If you choose to use an existing flow, a pop-up window will appear where you can select the desired flow for your Instagram default reply. You’ll also have the option to preview the flow in the same window before making your selection.
You can also configure the default reply trigger by navigating to Automations > Basic, as demonstrated in the screenshot below:
When you click on the added trigger, a panel will open on the left where you can configure everything. Let’s explore what each of these settings represents.
Here, you can choose to activate the trigger every time a user sends a message or limit it to once every 24 hours for the same user.
You can also choose to configure the default to trigger exclusively for Instagram direct messages while excluding responses to stories.
Once you have successfully set up everything and toggle the switch in the bottom left corner to activate the trigger, click Set live to publish the flow.
