Sometimes you can see that wrong messages are sent out in your automations. There are a few reasons this might happen. This article will cover the following main reasons:
- Instant reply on your Facebook page
- Custom template in Ads manager
- Other chatbot programs
- Triggers in Live Chat
Instant reply on your Facebook page
In case Facebook's autoresponder (Instant Reply) is turned on, we always recommend disabling it to avoid any interference with Manychat automation.
You can turn it off in your Meta Business Suite → Inbox → Automations.
Custom template in Ads manager
You may see several options like these in Messenger:
This might happen if you activate your campaign in the Ads manager and don't connect it to the Ads trigger in Manychat. These buttons are preset in the Ads manager and can be found in the Message Template section → Start conversation → Edit template:
Other chatbot programs
Make sure you're not using any other chatbot programs with your Facebook Business page. They might interfere with Manychat automation, prompting incorrect messages to be sent to your contacts.
Switch to your Business page, then head to Settings & privacy → Settings → Audience and visibility → Page setup → Advanced Messaging → App settings → Configure, and check if Manychat is set as the Primary Receiver.
Additionally, review your Business integrations by switching back to your Facebook profile and clicking this link: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools. If any other chatbot programs are installed there, delete/disable them to make sure Manychat works smoothly for you.
Triggers in Live Chat
If the problematic messages were set up in Manychat but you don’t expect them to be triggered a certain way, open the Live Chat conversation with the contact who experienced the issue and check if there are records about any triggers (like rules, sequences, etc.) — this may clarify things.
