When you sign up for WhatsApp as a Pro user, Manychat will attempt to share its Credit Line with your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). This step is mandatory as it ensures that you are accurately billed by Manychat for messages sent using the Manychat platform.
A Credit Line is a payment mechanism that allows Manychat to pay Meta for the messages you send. You cannot use an alternative payment method when sending messages through Manychat. |
You can view the status of your Credit Line in the health widget displayed in Settings > WhatsApp. If the credit line was successfully shared, you will see it displayed as follows:
If sharing the credit line was unsuccessful, then it will be displayed as follows:
There are two other statuses, namely Not Shared and PRO Required. These statuses are temporary and can change to Shared when Manychat retries to share its credit line.
It is important to note that while the credit line has this status, you will not be able to:
- Send Message templates
- Send Broadcast messages
- Send messages within the 24 hour window if you have exceeded your free service message quota of 1000 messages per month.
Even if you have a positive wallet balance, you will not be able to perform the above actions.
Why sharing Manychat’s credit line fails
The most common reasons why sharing the credit line can fail are:
- Your WABA already has another credit line shared with it. This may have happened because you connected your account to a provider like Manychat before.
- You already added a payment method to your WABA.
- The currency for your WABA is different from the one Manychat uses (USD).
How to find the possible cause
Try to find out if you can identify the cause for the failure in your Payment settings:
- Navigate to the Billing Hub.
- Choose the account you use for WhatsApp.
- Click Payment methods in the side panel and see if there are any listed:
- If Credit lines is displayed as an option in the side panel, click it to see what credit lines are already shared.
Troubleshooting
Your WABA's credit line should be provided by your current Business Solution Provider (BSP), which is Manychat. However, if your previous BSP is still holding the credit line or you have another payment method for your WABA, create a new WABA and connect it to Manychat so we can share a credit line with it.
To do so, remove your WhatsApp phone number from your Manychat account in Settings → Channels → WhatsApp and then delete the phone number from the existing WABA by clicking on the trash can icon in your Meta Business Manager → Business Settings → WhatsApp Accounts → WhatsApp Manager → Phone Numbers:
After that, you’ll need to wait a few hours before the WABA data is refreshed. Once the number has been deleted from the WABA, you should be able to connect it back to the Manychat account with a new WABA, where Manychat will be able to share the credit line.
If the number you used was purchased from Manychat, you will need to contact Manychat Support to release the number before you can purchase another one to be used with the new WABA.
If you encounter difficulties with the guidelines in this article or any other issues related to Manychat’s credit line, please contact Manychat Support for assistance.
