Marketing Messages Lite is a direct marketing API that offers automatic optimizations for deliveries (available at launch) and reads and clicks (coming soon), which may deliver a higher quality experience for people and may deliver better business performance compared to Cloud API.
⚠️ MM Lite API works only with non-Coexistence WhatsApp Business Accounts (not WhatsApp Business App Accounts). |
To start sending messages using Marketing Messages Lite (MML), you must grant Manychat additional access within your Meta Business Portfolio. There are two ways to do this:
Option 1: Enable access while creating a Message Template
If you haven’t yet granted access and try to create an MML by going to Settings > WhatsApp > Message Templates, you’ll notice a “New” label next to Marketing Lite.
Click on Marketing Lite:
A pop-up will appear prompting you to connect. Click to proceed:
Option 2: Enable Access via WhatsApp Settings
Navigate to Settings > WhatsApp. Click the Connect button next to Marketing Message Lite:
A pop-up banner will appear — click Open Meta to proceed:
Final steps in Meta Business Portfolio
In your Meta Business Portfolio, click Review when prompted:
Review the access request and conditions. Click Continue:

Once the setup is complete, you’ll see a “Connected” status next to Marketing Message Lite in your WhatsApp channel settings. After that, you’ll be able to start creating and sending MMLs.
