Marketing Messages for WhatsApp (formerly known as Marketing Messages Lite) is a next-generation marketing solution designed to improve the customer experience and help businesses reach more people. With optimized message delivery, it increases the likelihood of messages being read and can drive higher conversions.
Enabling Marketing Messages for WhatsApp in Manychat
To start using this feature, you must first accept the Terms of Service and complete onboarding in Meta WhatsApp Manager.

Enable Marketing Messages while creating a message template
- Open Settings.
- Select WhatsApp from the list of channels.
- Switch to the Message Templates tab.
- Click + New template. Note: Only users with Editor or Admin roles will see this button.
- In the window that opens, select the Marketing message category. If you haven’t accepted the Terms of Service or completed onboarding in Meta WhatsApp Manager, you’ll be prompted to confirm the connection in Business Manager at this stage.
- In the pop-up window, click Activate on Meta.
- You’ll be redirected to your WhatsApp Manager on Meta. Click Accept terms to get started.
- Click Accept to complete the onboarding process.
Once onboarding is complete, return to the template creation page and continue with the usual message template creation flow.
If you encounter any issues completing activation on the Meta side, return to Manychat and click Continue creating your template in the same pop-up window used to open the Meta page. You’ll be able to proceed with template creation, and the activation window will appear again after 7 days.
Enable Marketing Messages while creating a new broadcast
- Select Broadcasts from the sidebar.
- Click on the New Broadcast button.
- Select WhatsApp in the window that opens.
- Once you get to the broadcast editing window, select Marketing as the message category.
- Once you do so, if you haven’t accepted the Terms of Service or completed onboarding in Meta WhatsApp Manager, you’ll be prompted to confirm the connection in Business Manager at this stage.
- In the pop-up window, click Activate on Meta.
- You’ll be redirected to your WhatsApp Manager on Meta. Click Accept terms to get started.
- Click Accept to complete the onboarding process.
Enable Marketing Messages from WhatsApp settings in Manychat
- Open Settings.
- Select WhatsApp from the list of channels.
- Locate the Marketing Messages for WhatsApp section and click Connect.
- If you haven’t accepted the Terms of Service or completed onboarding in Meta WhatsApp Manager, you’ll be prompted to confirm the connection in Business Manager at this stage.
- In the pop-up window, click Activate on Meta.
- You’ll be redirected to your WhatsApp Manager on Meta. Click Accept terms to get started.
- Click Accept to complete the onboarding process.
This is a one-time process. If your WhatsApp Business Account is already connected, you won’t be prompted again when creating future Marketing Message Templates.
