Let AI handle customer questions across your DMs and comments automatically. Using the information stored in your Knowledge library, AI can understand your business context and provide accurate, relevant answers instantly. This feature helps you create a centralized AI assistant that knows your brand, responds quickly, and scales your customer communication effortlessly.
⚠️ This feature is currently available only for the Instagram channel and requires an active paid plan with the Manychat AI add-on. The Manychat AI tab is visible only to users with an Admin or Editor role on the account.

Setting up AI Replies
You can set up AI Replies from the Skills tab by selecting the relevant scenario.
- Click on Manychat AI in the sidebar and switch to the Skills tab.
- Locate the AI Replies section and click on it.
- To set up AI Replies, you can either add a link to a page containing the information you want AI to use for its responses or enter the text manually.
- Once you’ve added the information, click Add Source to apply the changes.
- Click the Turn On AI Replies button to continue the setup.
- Alternatively, click Review to add another Knowledge entry or edit an existing one. You can manage and update your Knowledge Base entries anytime from the Knowledge tab.
- Next, set up how AI will handle questions in DMs. If AI can’t answer a question, you can have it assign the conversation to a real person by selecting the Assign to a person checkbox and choosing a team member or group.
- You can preview how AI responds to incoming questions in the AI Playground by clicking the Test AI button.
- Click on the Go Live button to enable AI Replies.
- You can turn the scenario on and off by using the corresponding toggle.
Testing AI Replies in the AI Playground
The AI Playground lets you test your AI Replies before going live. You can ask questions and see how your AI responds based on your Knowledge entries.
- To access the AI Playground, click the Test AI button in the top right corner of the Manychat AI tab.
- You can either start testing the AI with one of the suggested questions or type a custom question into the chat.
- Once the AI encounters a question not mentioned in any of the Knowledge entries, it will suggest you add this information to the Knowledge base.
- You can add new Knowledge entries straight from the Playground. Don’t forget to save the new entry by clicking the Add Source button.
- Once a new entry is added, you can test how the AI will handle such questions based on the updated information by clicking the See new answer button.
- You can edit the newly created Knowledge entry by pressing the Edit button. Alternatively, you can manage it in the Knowledge tab.
- To restart the chat with AI, click the Start Over button.
- Once you are happy with the AI answers, you can close the AI Playground by clicking the cross icon at the top right corner.
By testing and refining your Knowledge base in the AI Playground regularly, you can be confident that Manychat AI is equipped with all the information necessary to handle your contacts' questions.
