In this article, you will learn how to set up the Kit integration with Manychat. Kit is a powerful email service provider designed to help creators and businesses market and sell their products or services online. Whether you create digital or physical products, offer services, build software, or manage ads, sponsorships, or affiliate marketing, Kit has you covered.
By integrating Manychat with Kit, you can streamline your marketing efforts with automated actions such as managing email lists, updating contact details, and tracking subscriber activity. This integration allows you to drive conversions and enhance engagement across your channels.
Here are the key actions available with the Manychat + Kit integration:
- Add contact to form: Adds a contact using their email address to one of your Kit forms and updates the contact's Kit fields.
- Add contact to sequence: Adds a contact using their email address to one of your Kit sequences and updates the contact's Kit fields.
- Add tag: Assigns a specific tag to a contact within Kit for easier organization and segmentation.
- Get contact's data: Retrieves the data of a single contact using their email address and updates this information in the contact's Custom Fields.
This integration empowers you to automate and personalize your workflows, making it easier to connect with your audience and achieve your marketing goals.
Setting up Kit integration
- Log in to your Kit account.
- Click on the name of your account.
- Select Settings from the dropdown.
- Head to the Developer tab.
- Locate the API Secret section.
- Press the Copy button to copy your API Secret. Make sure to save the API Secret somewhere safe, as you won’t be able to view it later. If you lose this API key, you'll need to generate a new one.
- In Manychat, navigate to Settings > Integrations and scroll down to locate the Kit section.
- Paste your API Secret and click the Connect Kit Account button. Note that you won’t be able to finish the connection until you enter the API Secret.
- To complete the integration, select the Email Field — either a system field or a custom field in Manychat that contains the contact’s email. This field’s value will be sent to Kit to create a contact. If a contact with such an email already exists in Kit, it will be identified by this email address.
💡 You can unlink your Kit account anytime with the Disconnect button.
Adding a Kit action to your automation
To add a Kit action to your automation, you'll need to set up an automation in Manychat where you collect the contact’s email and save it to a system or a custom field.
⚠️ Note: If you don’t collect an email or the user doesn’t provide one, the field will remain empty, and no data will be passed to your Kit account.
- Add an Action step to your automation.
- Select one of the available Kit actions.
⚠️ Note: Make sure to select the same field in the action block as the one you have set in the integration’s settings. Otherwise, the data will not be transferred correctly. Be cautious not to confuse the system field Email with a custom field Email you may have created.
