The Facebook Shop Message trigger is a powerful automation tool designed to streamline communication with potential customers browsing your Facebook Shop. With this feature, you can automatically initiate an automation whenever a user sends a message about a product listed in your shop.
This automation can help you interact with leads, answer frequently asked questions, provide product details, or notify your team, helping turn conversations into conversions.

How to set up the Facebook Shop Message trigger?
To add the Facebook Shop Message trigger to your automation, simply click the “+ New Trigger” button within the Flow Builder.
When the pop-up window appears, select the trigger from the list to add it to your automation.
Once you've added the trigger, make sure to activate and save it to ensure the automation runs properly.
As illustrated in the example above, automation can include not only automated replies and additional product details but also internal notifications—such as using the "Assign conversation" action to route the user's inquiry to a specific team member.
Messages from your Facebook Shop will appear in Live Chat inside your Manychat account, accompanied by a preview of the product the customer inquired about—including the image, title, and price.
This context-rich experience empowers your support team to respond more effectively and personally.
Limitations and troubleshooting
- At this time, all messages sent from your Facebook Shop—regardless of the product—will activate the same automation. To avoid message conflicts or customer confusion, make sure that only one automation is configured to respond via this trigger at any given time.
- Facebook Shops are not supported in all countries, and certain features (like checkout on Facebook or Instagram) may be limited depending on your location. You can find the complete list of supported countries for Shops on Facebook and Instagram here.
