The new addition to the Manychat AI add-on introduces powerful, AI-driven automations that work without any manual triggers. Once enabled, the AI runs continuously in the background, analyzing incoming messages and comments. It automatically activates when someone asks a question about your business or leaves a positive comment on your post or reel — allowing you to engage with your audience instantly and effortlessly.
⚠️ This feature is currently available only for the Instagram channel and requires an active paid plan with the Manychat AI add-on. The Manychat AI tab is visible only to users with an Admin or Editor role on the account.

Here are the three scenarios that Manychat AI can perform daily:
- AI Replies - Let AI spot questions in your DMs or comments and answer them using the context you put in its Knowledge library. This function allows for creating a centralized AI that knows your business and responds relevantly, quickly, and at scale.
- AI Comments - AI detects when someone leaves a positive comment under your post or reel, and replies, mirroring your tone. Interact with fans and followers who genuinely care about what you offer to increase engagement early with those who are most likely to make a purchase.
- AI Goals - After AI responds to a comment or answers a question, it engages users in the conversation to achieve a specific goal. Set objectives and let Manychat AI drive the conversation to achieve those goals, whether it’s sending a link to drive registrations, asking for a follow, or qualifying leads.

Knowledge
In this tab, you can add information about your business to train the AI and manage your Knowledge entries.
💡 If you update an entry while a contact is chatting with AI, the changes will apply starting from the next new conversation.
There are three entry options available:

Link - add a link to your website, and AI will scan it to retrieve information about your business.
⚠️ The AI will only review the exact page provided. If you want it to learn from multiple pages of your website, you need to provide a link to each page as a separate entry. Also, it will only grab the text information. - Text - write up to 250k characters of text per entry to provide the context about your business for the AI.
- File (coming soon) - upload the information about your business in a file.
FAQ
How does the system decide when to let the AI handle an interaction?
When a DM or comment comes in, the system first checks if any other automation can handle it. If no existing automation responds, the message is passed to the AI automation system. Next, the AI automation decides whether it is an AI scenario. In case AI detects a question or a compliment, it runs the AI Replies or AI Comments correspondingly. If it’s not any of the live AI scenarios, the default reply works if it exists.
Can AI respond in various languages?
Yes, AI automatically detects the language in the contact's message and can recognize and respond in a wide range of languages. Note that In some cases, for example, when a very short message is received or when similar languages are used, AI might misinterpret the language.
Is there a timeout after which the AI will stop waiting for a response from the contact if it doesn’t reply?
Yes, the AI will stop waiting for the contact’s reply after 10 hours.
Will AI Comments work with Stories or Lives?
No, AI Comments only works with Reels or Posts.
