What is the difference between Free and Pro subscription plans?

First and foremost, once you upgrade to Pro, you will have unlimited access to creating new automations and all Pro features, such as Sequences, Tags, and Custom fields. Our SMS and Email features will also be available, as will the Buy button.
You will also get access to Message tags, One-time notifications, Facebook Ads trigger. With that, you will be able to set up Integrations such as ChatGPT, Klaviyo, Zapier, Make, Google Sheets, MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, and ConvertKit.
You will get access to the additional Notify admins action, our DevTools: Dynamic block and External request, and our Manychat API.
What are the limits of the Free plan?
The Free plan has a limit of 1,000 contacts of all types: subscribed, unsubscribed, and deleted.
Free accounts are also limited to three custom keyword triggers and one team member per account. System default keywords, such as start/stop and subscribe/unsubscribe, do not count toward this limit.
What happens if I reach the limit on custom keywords or team members on Free and don't go to Pro?
If any of these limits are exceeded, sending messages to contacts through configured automations, Live Chat, or broadcasts will no longer be possible. You can remove a custom keyword or a team member to stay within the Free plan limits.
What happens if I reach the limit of contacts on Free and don't go to Pro?
Once the 1,000-contact threshold is reached, sending messages to contacts through configured automations, Live Chat, or broadcasts will no longer be possible. This limit is final, which unfortunately means that deleting contacts will not keep you on the Free plan.
How much does Manychat cost?
Your Pro billing tier calculation is based on the number of contacts you have for your account each month. The Pro plan starts at $15/month for up to 500 contacts and increases as you grow your contact list.
Use the pricing calculator found at the bottom of this page to estimate how much you'll pay based on your number of contacts. This number does not reset every month, you’ll continue to accrue contacts as you continue to use Manychat.

How do I switch to a different tier (increase ‘Marketing Automation’ in billing)?
No need to worry about manually switching, we’ve made it easy! Manychat automatically selects a tier based on the number of your contacts. Our system calculates how long each tier was eligible during a month and adjusts the total price accordingly, so you only pay for what you use.
What’s considered a contact?
Good news — your follower count is not your contact count! A contact is an individual who interacts with your business account connected to Manychat. It's also possible to acquire contacts and message them through Import and different API features.
How do I estimate the number of contacts I may get?
You can get a rough baseline estimate by multiplying your followers by your engagement rate. This will help you understand how many people may engage with you in your DMs, which translates to the number of contacts. Check out our pricing calculator on the bottom of this page to see which tier you’d fall into based on contacts. We also recommend trying out the free trial to get a sense of how many DMs you get from an automation.
Can my monthly payment be capped?
Currently, payments cannot be capped because as you continue to expand reach, grow engagement, and drive clicks with your automations, your audience will continue to grow, also increasing your number of contacts.
Can I pay a flat fee?
Currently, our pricing is variable, as it is based on contacts and we do not have a flat fee option.
Can I pay annually?
No, Manychat Pro plan can only be billed monthly, as the cost of your monthly Pro subscription is dependent on the number of contacts in your account.
Can I pay for my Manychat subscription via PayPal?
Manychat does not support payments via PayPal.
We use Stripe as our payment gateway to ensure the best user experience and industry-leading security. Stripe allows us to process credit card payments efficiently, ensuring your transactions are secure.
Can I pay for my Manychat subscription from the Manychat Wallet balance?
The Manychat Wallet balance cannot be used for managing your Pro subscription. It can be used for sending Emails and WhatsApp Message Templates only.
Can I just pay for automation (in case I don’t care about the contacts)?
Before messaging a contact, it is necessary to obtain their permission to receive messages from your business. Manychat automatically records individuals who interact with your business and agree to receive messages as contacts, making it possible to send them automations.
Sending automations won’t be possible without gathering contacts first!
Is there a free trial period? What’s included?
Manychat offers a free trial which allows you to test drive all Manychat Pro features for free for 14 days.
What happens when my free Pro trial ends?
After the trial period ends, you will automatically be charged for the following month at the Pro subscription rate. You can cancel the trial or your subscription at any time.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Can I have Pro features on several accounts with one Pro subscription?
No, a Pro subscription needs to be purchased for every account separately as the cost of a Pro account is based on the number of contacts of each account.
Can I transfer a Pro subscription from one account to another?
Subscriptions cannot be transferred. If you mistakenly paid for the wrong account, please contact the Support Team for assistance.
What will happen to my contacts and automation if I cancel Pro subscription?
Don’t worry, you won’t lose any data or contacts if you cancel your Pro subscription. The content in your automations will remain intact, but all Pro features will stop working once you cancel. You can reactivate Pro features later by renewing your Pro subscription.

Our Elite plan is best for users who are looking for dedicated 1:1 guidance from a Customer Success Manager. Customer Success Managers help businesses with onboarding, strategy, training, and ensuring goals are being met by Manychat. While the pricing for our Elite plan is higher than the self-serve Pro plan, it is tailored to meet and scale with the needs of your business.

I submitted a form for Manychat Elite but wasn’t accepted. Why?
The Manychat Elite plan is intended for larger creators and brands with more complex business and marketing use cases that would benefit from the additional guidance of a dedicated Customer Success Manager. Because the Elite plan is our premium offering at a premium cost, our average Elite client has over 1M followers and tends to use social as a way to promote some sort of commerce. Feel free to apply again as you and your business grow!
